Animons are non-sentient non-magical forms of life. They are very universal, stored as Holy Templates when not in use (ie, extinct). When planetmaker larvae descend on a world of the right type, animons are created subconsciously, "from the larvae's footsteps". They then evolve or become sentient, establishing a kind of indpendence from their maker. Dragons have been known to create Animons subconsciously on occasion as well, and it is believed that their process of Mindchildren follows a similar process.
