Size: 6'-7' tall, 5'-6' wingspan.

Amet are feathered, winged humanoids, with long bills, five-toed talons, bright white leathery wings, light greyish plumage and arms with talonlike opposable fingers. Preferring efficient flight to walking, they are nonetheless swift runners, probably due to their hollow bones.

While their bones break easily, they will mix with a secreted chemical to become functional cartiledge while the bone repairs. Amet are cold-blooded, but have thin black hair-like down that can flex to turn their plumage darker and absorb more heat, or retract inside their down, turning them whiter, and reflecting more heat away.

They lay eggs in clutches of three to six.

Amet feathers, being pure white, are useful for various things, and fairly valuable since Amet have a taboo on giving up their feathers that fall off, preferring to weave them into necklaces/belts instead.
